Bangor RNLI volunteer lifeboat crew and supporters are calling on walkers to join them on Sunday 11 April 2010 for their annual sponsored coastal walk from Holywood to Bangor.
The event is being held to raise funds for the lifeboat station, whose crewmembers were the busiest in Northern Ireland last year. Translink NI Railways are generously supporting the popular fundraiser by providing courtesy rail travel between Holywood and Bangor to allow participants choose the length of their walk. The scenic coastline walk is a great family day out with all funds raised going to save lives at sea.
The event starts at Holywood train station at 1pm and participants are also welcome to join in along the route. After the walk, all participants are invited to enjoy refreshments and live entertainment at Coyle's Bar & Bistro in Bangor. Registration forms and sponsorship packs are available from the RNLI Belfast Office on tel: 028 9047 3665 or emailing ro/ni@rnli.org.uk
