In preparation for the beginning of a new season of sailing and watersports on the Swilly, Paul J Hasson, LSYC Commodore, paid tribute to the selfless work of the Lifeboat crews and commenting on his forthcoming year was looking forward to a new season, packed with races and events that takes the club from its base in Fahan to Buncrana, Rathmullan, Portsalon, Tory Island, Melmore and the Foyle.

''We've rolled out an exciting programme of events this year and look forward to welcoming new members. This is also a very exciting time to be involved in local sailing with the forthcoming 2011-12 Clipper Round the World Race. On behalf of the club, we wish the Derry boat fast speeds and great success.''
