The annual swim on Boxing Day in aid of ‘Sparks NI’ is as challenging as ever! I know how many of you were left feeling disappointed by last year's cancellation due to the extreme weather conditions, so put it into your Christmas calendar and turn up to renew old friendships or make new ones, while supporting a very worthy cause.
The craic will be great with hot whiskey, food and a lot of laughs. We would recommend that you gain weight before the swim and then use the photographs as an encouragement to go on that diet afterwards. It is a family event with kids more than welcome, and where would you find a more romantic setting to renew your vows than standing together in the beautiful waters of Ballyholme Bay on Boxing Day.
Please arrive at Ballyholme Yacht Club no later than 10.45am sharp for an 11.00am plunge! The hot tip for this year is to wear neoprene shoes or other non-slip footwear as it makes the experience all the more pleasant! Everyone who swims will receive a certificate, so make sure to sign the registration book, and if you bring your sponsorship money we will issue receipts on the day. For those of you who raise more than £250, we will have a fabulous Paddington bear for you to take home.
To ensure there is enough hot whiskey for everyone we need to know approx. numbers for catering, so please contact Sarah Matzen on Tel: 028 7083 6096 or Email:smatzen@action.org.uk to confirm your intention to participate, and also any family or friends who wish to attend to support you. Charity details can be found at action.org.uk.
