A group of BYC Laser sailors planed to make the trip from Bangor to Portpatrick across the Irish Sea to raise money for the MRI Scanner Unit at the RVH however in what one seasoned weather watcher described as “a little breezy and kinda choppy” our brave attempt at crossing the channel was scuppered.
A little Artistic Licence! But, in the true spirit of Richard Branson and Robert the Bruce (he’s the guy with the spider!), we must try, try and try again.
And so, as Shakespeare, said “Once more unto the breach....” Let’s now concentrate our efforts on getting across in September.
In the meantime, huge thanks to Colin Jamison, Jenny Polly and the guys in Rescue for their time and invaluable support.
Also a special mention should go to Roger and Robin who bravely faced the extreme conditions and still found time to provide one 2 one rescue training.
